Payments platform Adyen has expanded its acquiring services in the Middle East, with the inclusion of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
With the launch of its acquiring solution in the UAE, Adyen offers domestic and international businesses with an improved payments solution, thereby enabling higher authorisation rates and enhanced shopper flows with less friction.
Foodics, Fabergé and HMSHost International are among the first merchants benefitting from the acquiring solution, claimed Adyen.
In the UAE, Adyen offers the same range of products and features to the firms just as it provides in other regions. Among the products it provides includes a fully integrated anti-fraud solution, and revenue optimisation toolkit.
Encompassing the complete payment flow through its single platform for online, in-store and in-app transactions, Adyen’s acquiring services help its merchants provide frictionless payment experiences for their shoppers.
Adyen head of Middle East Sander Maerten said: “The launch of our UAE acquiring solution allows us to offer our merchants the local solution they have been looking for. We are ready to reduce the pain points merchants currently see in the UAE market.

Adyen noted that it is the first and only payment provider in the UAE to provide a single-platform unified commerce solution.
Due to direct card acquiring connections to Visa and Mastercard, transactions get processed locally in the UAE through the Adyen platform.
Among the further supported payment methods include American Express, Diners, Discover, JCB, UnionPay International, WeChat and AliPay, claimed Adyen.
Adyen’s foray to the UAE is supported through its partnership with Network International, an enabler of digital commerce across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The company will be provided support by Network International with scheme sponsorship services for Visa and Mastercard acquiring.
