Bahrain-based Al Salam Bank has introduced new Visa prepaid cards that can be loaded with four different currencies, Bahraini Dinar, US Dollar, EURO or British Pound.
Users can reload the cards through online banking or at any of the bank’s branches.

The bank integrated security capabilities into the new cards to ensure safety during point-of-sale (POS), online and ATM transactions for customers.
Al Salam Bank retail banking head Mohammed Buhijji said: “We are pleased to extend our prepaid card with multiple currency option, an elegant transparent design, which has recently been added to our suite of Visa cards.
“The multiple currency prepaid cards are best suited for travellers and shoppers to take advantage of zero FX mark up when using in the country of the card currency, in addition it is more convenient way to spend and manage their cash in a secured manner.”
The firm said that the reloadable prepaid cards provide easy-to-use, transparent, safe and secure option for cashless payments. Cardholders will be able to avail them at more than 35 million outlets and two million ATMs in local and international markets.
Furthermore, Verified by Visa is set to provide free SMS alerts and monthly electronic statements to users of these cards.
