American Express is acquiring restaurant reservation platform, Resy.

The acquisition will build upon a growing suite of digital-focused benefits from American Express. These will extend beyond traditional reward points usually offered by Amex.

Card members will have access to experiences across travel, lodging, airports and dining.

Resy offers a table management, CRM and booking technology suite for restaurants. In addition, the solution comes with a restaurant reservation app and website to enhance dining experiences worldwide.

Founded in 2014, Resy works with around 4,000 restaurants across 154 US cities and 10 countries.

Overall, the platform seats more than 2.6 million diners a week. Looking ahead, the acquisition will finish around summer 2019.
