American Express (AmEx) is set to introduce a new co-branded Amazon credit card as part of its multi-year collaboration with the retailer.
Targeted at small businesses in the US, the card is expected to enhance how these merchants purchase Amazon good and services.
According to Amazon vice-president Max Bardon, the co-branded credit card programme will integrate Amazon’s convenience and value with AmEx’s access and security.
American Express president of enterprise strategic partnerships Glenda McNeal said: “At American Express, we have been helping business owners grow for more than 50 years and we know that millions of them rely on Amazon.
“We’re delighted to expand our partnership with Amazon by offering a new cobranded small business card, and by also harnessing the collective insights and expertise of our companies to deliver tangible value to our mutual customers who use Amazon’s services.”
Under the partnership, AmEx also introduced an enhanced data solution designed to provide US businesses with better insights into their purchasing activity.
These insights are intended to facilitate better monitoring, control and reconciliation of transactions made using AmEx Corporate Cards or Corporate Purchasing Cards, and enable customers to run more advanced analytics.
