American Express (Amex) has launched its new rewards credit card for small business owners, allowing them to earn frequent flyer points on their business purchases at generous and uncapped rates.
The new product, Business Explorer Card, automatically enrols cardholders to the Membership Rewards Gateway (MRG) programme and allows them to earn two MRG points per dollar spent.
The new customers will be awarded 100,000 bonus MRG points if they spend at least $3,000 on the card within the first three months. The annual fee for the card is $395.
The rewards points can be redeemed for frequent flyer points at Virgin Australia Velocity, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Malaysia Airlines Enrich, Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest, Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus and Air New Zealand Airpoints.
Amex allows small business owners to add up to 99 supplementary cardholders onto the primary account which allows the main cardholder to accumulate all rewards points earned by supplementary cardholders.
Additionally, the cardholders will receive up to 55 interest-free days on purchases when paying the closing balance in full each month or will pay interest rate of 16.99% annually.
Designed for business travellers, the card also offers cover for damaged or stolen baggage, money or documents, medical emergency expenses, delayed flights and travel disruption.
