Australian print and online media company,
Fairfax Media, has selected US based communications experts
Transaction Network Services (TNS) to provide eCommerce
payment solutions for its online subsidiary, Fairfax Digital, the
Australian network of online news, information and classified
websites.

As part of the solution, Fairfax Digital has
access to the TNS ePayment Gateway, which addresses fraud, security
and reconciliation for online payments. These card-not-present
transactions are all managed within TNS’ PCI DSS certified
processing environment which removes the burden associated with
internal administrative payment systems and procedures.

In addition to payments processing, Fairfax
will also use TNS’ Stored Card Tokenisation solution which securely
encrypts and stores customer card holder data. This solution uses
tokenisation technology to securely exchange sensitive card data
for a unique “token” to be stored in the merchants system. The
token protects the card information from unauthorised access. By
applying these TNS solutions, merchants are able to reduce the
scope of PCI DSS and associated costs.

John Banfield, TNS Senior Vice President, Asia
Pacific said: “It is with great pleasure we bring our solutions to
Fairfax Digital, a leading platform for Australia’s eCommerce
community. Fairfax is the right type of business to benefit from
our scalable services, which incorporates best practices for
managing the security and delivery of critical payment
transactions.”
