ATM operator Automatia has launched the first real-time multi-banking platform in Finland, known as Siirto.

Siirto is an open payment platform, which follows EU’s Payment Service Directive (PSD2).

It has been designed by Finish IT provider Tieto in association with Automatia and its partner banks that include OP Bank Group, Nordea Bank and Danske Bank.

The platform interface has been designed to allow any licensed payments provider within the financial ecosystem a multi-bank payment service for customers through one application.

The platform will support consumers’ real-time money transfers from mobile-to-mobile between different banks. Users only need to have a mobile phone number for sending or receiving money.

Automatia managing director Marko Vilo said: “Modern consumers are demanding real-time services in all aspects of their everyday life. That is why we are very excited and proud to launch Siirto, a new real-time payment platform.

“With the help of Tieto, we are creating Finnish payment service history, and enabling consumers to transfer money between the various banks in seconds. This will dramatically change consumers’ payment behavior.”
