Adyen, a Dutch payments platform that enables merchants to accept point-of-sale, e-commerce, and mobile payments, has expanded into Canada.

The payments firm offers an integrated solution to offer a cross channel experience for merchants. The aim is to do away with the requirement to collaborate with multiple suppliers and third-party connections.

Ayden Canada expansion will support more local businesses

The expansion of the platform into Canada will enable local businesses to avail Adyen’s capabilities such as card acquiring for Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, UnionPay, Discover and Diners for digital and in-store payments.

Through Adyen, Canada-based merchants will also be able to access Interac Debit for both digital and in-store payments, along with Alipay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and WeChat Pay.

At the same time, Canadian merchants can now also access Adyen MarketPay.

Adyen president for North America Kamran Zaki said: “We are excited to provide Canadian businesses with a seamless payment experience. With Adyen businesses can now place customer convenience at the forefront of their operations.

“Eliminating boundaries across channels and geographies will help our customers expand within Canada and as they grow abroad. In addition, Canada is now easily accessible for businesses from other countries.”

Currently, Dollar Shave Club, Adidas, Busbud and Canada Goose have opted for Adyen’s payment platform.
