Spanish banking group Banco Sabadell has made Apple’s mobile payment platform Apple Pay available to its customers.
The service will be available for all Banco Sabadell Mastercard and Visa card holders with Apple Watch, iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and all later versions. It can also be used with Safari on any Macbook launched in or after 2012.
Banco Sabadell financial services head Anna Puigoriol said: “Offering Apple Pay to our customers strengthens Banco Sabadell’s commitment to continuous innovation, specifically in terms of mobile payments in this case.
“The implementation of Apple Pay allows us to continue offering high quality products and services, while also guaranteeing the maximum level of security, as well as an excellent purchasing experience.”
Apple Pay does not store the actual credit or debit card numbers of users on the device or Apple servers, but assigns a unique device account number that is encrypted and stored in the device.
Every transaction made through Apple Pay is validated with a one-time unique dynamic security code to ensure security of the payment.
