BankIslami Pakistan has partnered with Diebold to deploy ATMs that are more energy efficient in Pakistan.
According to Diebold, the Diebold 429 is the first energy-efficient ATM that operates at peak efficiency at 70 watts of power.
The machine continuously monitors the power required to complete transactions and automatically alternates between three possible power sources: solar panel, alternating current grid and internal battery.
Switching between these sources, the ATM maximises its uptime, reduces energy consumption and lowers the total cost of ownership, says Diebold.
"As a forward-thinking institution, we are focused on both delivering technologically advanced services to our customers and introducing more green technology to our infrastructure," said Hasan Bilgrami, CEO BankIslami. "The Diebold 429 ATMs allow us to meet both goals."
In order to assist fighting against global card fraud and digital security threats, Diebold 429 ATMs have been equipped with security features such as EMV card readers and biometric technology.
