Banking group Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) has come to a licence agreement with JCB International (JCBI) to begin merchant acquiring operations in Spain.
BBVA will facilitate JCB acceptance at merchants throughout Spain. This BBVA agreement will mark an increase in JCB brand coverage in Spain.
JCB International is the international operations subsidiary of JCB, a Japan-based payment brand and credit card issuer. Its acceptance network spans over 23 million merchants, with more than 78 million JCB card carriers.
