Copenhagen-based payment processor BIPS has integrated with Bigcommerce, an e-commerce platform, to allow merchants using the platform to start accepting Bitcoin through BIPS.
The integration is intended to reduce the entry restrictions for merchants who may be interested in accepting Bitcoin.
Used by more than 40,000 merchants globally, Bigcommerce platform integration will enable merchants to start accepting Bitcoin through BIPS by creating a BIPS account and adding it and bank account details to their Bigcommerce profile.
Bigcommerce platform does not require any extra setup, installation or coding required for accepting Bitcion.
The benefits gained by accepting Bitcoin include lower fees, no risk of charge backs, and increased privacy for customers and the option to accept payments from over 190 countries around the world.
With the carrier-grade technical platform provided by BIPS, the merchants will be able to accept Bitcoin with minimal effort and without any troubles of running complicated software on their server.
A special feature incorporated in BIPS is that it provides merchants the option of immediately converting their Bitcoin revenue to any of over 160 local currencies around the world, and transferring it to the merchant bank account at the end of each day.
BIPS founder and CEO Kris Henriksen said: "Our company mission is to provide a comprehensive carrier-grade technical platform that enables our merchants to receive cryptocurrencies as payments for their products and services online."
