BitPesa, a Kenya-based bitcoin services provider, has expanded its remittance service to neighbouring Tanzania. The company also added new features to accompany the launch.
BitPesa’s service will allow customers to send money to any Tanzanian phone number instantly for a transaction fee of 3%.

Additionally, BitPesa has introduced new user experience features including the ability to add, edit and search for users contacts on their Pay page, calculate payments using seven different reference currencies, and get status on all payments using a new dashboard.
The company launched its international money transfer in Kenya in October last year. The service enables simple money transfers to and from Kenya and non-profit organizations.
With this service, transactions can be sent or received in Kenya and Tanzania from anywhere in the world.
Tanzania has over six mobile money operators who offer money transfer services to anyone in the country.
