Atlanta based payments company Bluefin has integrated network tokenisation into its ShieldConex Tokenisation as a Service and Orchestration platforms.
This allows merchants to provision network-issued payment tokens from including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Network tokenisation substitutes payment details such as the primary account number (PAN) with a token issued by card networks.
These tokens can be used across different processors, acquirers, and gateways.
The ShieldConex Tokenisation as a Service is a cloud-based platform that protects sensitive payment data, personally identifiable information (PII), and protected health information (PHI) across various channels.
Additionally, ShieldConex Orchestration is a data exchange solution that combines vaultless tokenisation with PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE).
It aims to reduce PCI compliance scope and bolster data security without the constraints of vendor lock-in.
This launch enables Bluefin to simplify network tokenisation access and management, relieving merchants from the need to interact directly with each network.
Bluefin chief information officer Tim Barnett said: “Managing sensitive cardholder data across processors, acquirers, and platforms has become increasingly complex, particularly for merchants operating in omnichannel environments. With the addition of network tokenisation to ShieldConex, our clients can offload that complexity. They gain direct access to the security, efficiency, and cost benefits of network tokens, without the overhead of managing it themselves.”
Bluefin chief revenue officer Drew Monroe stated: “ShieldConex now stands as one of the industry’s most comprehensive platforms for sensitive data security – combining vendor-agnostic vaultless tokenisation, network tokenization, and PCI P2PE into a single, scalable solution for enterprises, SaaS platforms, and ISVs. This advancement underscores Bluefin’s commitment to delivering future-ready security solutions that help our clients reduce risk, drive efficiency, and protect their most valuable data assets.”
In January, Bluefin integrated its international payment gateway with Visa Platform Connect.
This initiative introduced PCI validated P2PE processing for Android devices, employing Bluefin’s P2PE-validated NaTALI payment application.
