Dutch mobile bank bunq has introduced a new sleek, sustainable credit card that will enable users to contribute in making a greener world.
Known as the bunq Green Card, the new credit card is said to be greener compared to traditional plastic cards as it made up of metal.
The app only Dutch bank said that it will plant one tree for every €100 spent by the cardholders. To ensure the plantation of trees, bunq has joined hands with Eden Reforestation Projects.
Additionally, the bunq metal card can be used just as the Travel Card. bunq offers traditional bank accounts; however, the cardholders are given options to choose a Travel Card or a Green Card and continue with their existing bank account.
Built on the Mastercard platform, the new Green Card does not levy any foreign exchange charges. To use their credit card, the cardholders will have to open the bunq app and recharge their bunq credit card account.
In case of insufficient balance in bunq credit card account, the transaction will be declined similar to a debit card.
