Cambodian Public Bank (Campu Bank) has partnered with JCB International to start accepting JCB cards at about 650 locations including their merchant terminals and ATMs in Cambodia.

Under the deal, Campu Bank will provide merchant acquiring services for JCB cards in Cambodia.

Campu Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Public Bank Berhad in Malaysia.

Campu Bank regional head of Indo-China operations Phan Ying Tong said: "The number of tourist arrivals and investors from Japan is on the increasing trend for the past few years and the launch of the merchant acceptance service and ATMs to accept JCB cards by Campu Bank is very timely to cater to this market segment.

"We believe this partnership will add value to the card acceptance network, provide greater convenience to JCB card members and contribute towards the growth of tourism in Cambodia."

JCBI deputy president Kimihisa Imada said: "We are positioning Mekong region as a strategically important market for JCB global business expansion. We also look forward to exploring further business opportunities with Campu Bank such as card issuance in the near future."
