Synchrony Financial-owned credit card network CareCredit has teamed up with American retail giants Walgreens and Duane Reade to enable payments with its credit card at more than 8,500 stores.
The partnership will support CareCredit card payments at the retailers’ outlets in the US, Puerto Rico, as well as Virgin Islands.
This boosts CareCredit’s network of more than 230,000 healthcare providers and retailers across the US, who currently accept CareCredit credit card payments.
CareCredit can be used for deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket medical expenses.
For service providers, CareCredit clears payments within two business days of accepting the card for payment. CareCredit also relieves the provider of any financial liability in the event of the patient delaying the payment.
Commenting on the development, CareCredit president and CEO Beto Casellas said: “Consumers continue to be faced with rising out-of-pocket healthcare costs.
