The development of the mobile payments
industry will revolutionise the way consumers pay, according to
Jean de Crane, COO of technology provider Clear2Pay.

De Crane was speaking after Clear2Pay
signed a deal in South Korea to provide the Korean Electric Testing
Institute (KETI) with three of its mobile payment test suite
solutions. Korea is one of the most established mobile payments
markets in the world, but there are signs there will be a
widespread deployment of m-payments services by banks in the US and
Europe in the second half of this year.

“The mobile phone has become an essential,
very personal device and if equipped with NFC technology, it is
bound to bring a genuine revolution to the consumer’s daily payment
experience,” said de Crane.

According to Clear2Pay, the NFC Forum selected
Integri tools as official test solution for the validation of NFC
implementations at communication and timing levels (digital
protocol layers).

“Following our recent selection by the NFC
Forum as test technology provider, we are pleased to work with
another pioneer such as KETI to implement universal standards and
participate in the global take-up of next generation mobile payment
products.”

KETI supplies key testing technologies and
certification services for companies in South Korea. Its target is
to help introduce cutting-edge mobile payment infrastructures based
on NFC technology.
