Community Choice Credit Union has introduced its new Visa Signature CashBack credit card with EMV chip technology to join the global initiative to combat fraud and protect sensitive payment data.
EMV chip cards, named after its founders Europay, Mastercard and Visa, embedded with microprocessor chips that store and protect cardholder data will enable customers to insert the chip-end of the card into the card reader instead of swiping the magnetic strip of the card and either enter a PIN or sign to complete the transaction.
The new credit card will provide cardholders with quarterly 1.5% cash back on their purchases, with no limit on cash back apart from identity theft protection, complimentary 24-hour Visa Signature Concierge service, travel and emergency assistance, and auto rental collision waiver.
Teresa Mayer, vice president of Lending at Community Choice, said: "With the recent signing of the BuySecure Initiative and the holiday shopping season just around the corner, we’re very excited to implement EMV chip technology with the launch of the Community Choice Credit Union rewards credit card."
