UK-based fintech startup Crypterium aims to reduce barriers for cryptocurrency holders by introducing its new payment card, Crypterium Card VISA Edition.

The new proposition comes entirely free of cost. It is seamlessly integrated into the Crypterium Wallet.

The card can be loaded with by exchanging digital currencies on the Crypterium Wallet to fiat money.

The cryptocurrencies are converted into euros instantly through Crypterium’s in-wallet exchange service.

The company, which is now an official VISA partner,  claims that the card offers competitive rates on each transaction through the system’s integration with the “world’s top exchanges”.

The top-up fee is set at 2%.

The card’s contactless technology enables users to make transactions by tapping on any POS terminal. It also supports Apple Pay.

The cardholders can spend up to €10,000 and withdraw €2,500 in cash every month.

Users can block and unblock the card, change their security PIN, and keep track of their expenditure. Crypterium accounts are insured by BitGo.

Commenting on the new offering, Crypterium COO Austin Kimm said: “Nowadays, most banks offer prepaid cards at no cost. At Crypterium, our goal is to make available similar (or even better) financial services for cryptocurrency holders.

“People using digital assets needed a truly affordable payment card. And that’s what our VISA card is all about.”
