UnionPay International has inked an agreement with Czech commercial bank Ceska sporitelna to expand its card acceptance in the country.
As per terms of the agreement, all the ATMs of Ceska sporitelna will accept UnionPay cards. So far, the bank has enabled approximately 1,400 ATMs in its network to accept UnionPay.

In future, UnionPay and Ceska sporitelna will cooperate in more fields including local card issuance, online payment and mobile payment.
UnionPay International CEO Cai Jianbo said: “With the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, we are accelerating the construction of UnionPay’s acceptance network in Czech, so as to improve customers’ card-using experiences, and to provide secure, convenient payment service for the comprehensive cooperation and personnel exchanges between China and Czech.”
Currently, UnionPay cards are accepted for cash withdrawal at the ATMs of Ceska sporitelna, KB and those with the Euronet signage in Czech Republic.
