Discover Global Network has added Türkiye İş Bankası (İşbank) as an acquiring partner to boost acceptance of its cards in Turkey.
Discover added İşbank to its network through its alliance agreement with the Interbank Card Center (BKM), which was established in 1990 with the partnership of 13 public and private Turkish banks.

The agreement will enable Isbank merchants to accept Discover, Diners Club International and alliance partner cards.
The deal with Discover Global Network has also made İşbank a prominent acquirer for almost all card brands in the country.
Now, Discover cardholders will be able to shop at over 12,000 e-commerce merchants, pay at 400,000 point-of-sale merchants and withdraw money from 6,500 ATMs of İşbank.
İşbank deputy CEO Yalçın Sezen said: “With the acceptance of Discover and Diners Club International cards we are enabling our transportation, tourism and retail merchants to give service to our guests from around the world who are Discover Global Network cardholders.

The Discover Global Network is operated by Discover Financial Services, a US-based card issuer. The network includes Discover Network, Diners Club International, PULSE and over 15 alliance partner networks.

Last month, Windcave, which earlier traded as Payment Express, agreed to facilitate card acceptance for Discover in New Zealand.
In August, French banking group Arkéa signed an agreement to enable merchant clients of its distribution networks to accept cards from Discover.
