Discover Financial Services unit Diners Club International has entered into an agreement with payment service provider 3C Payment to boost the acceptance of its cards in Europe and the Middle East.
3C Payment’s network of merchants includes hospitality, quick service restaurant and retail industries.
In the target regions, Discover intends to improve the acceptance of Discover, Diners Club, PULSE and affiliate network cards.
Diners Club International senior vice-president of global acceptance Amy Parsons said: “We’re always looking for ways to expand global acceptance for our cardholders, especially in the key travel and hospitality sectors.
“3C Payment has an extensive footprint in Europe and the Middle East and our cardholders will benefit from their network of top merchants and retailers.”
Besides, Diners Club has also formed an alliance with Oceanpayment to expand the acceptance of its cards.

Oceanpayment co-founder and executive vice-president Lanny Yang said: “We are very excited about this new relationship with Discover because it helps us strengthen our card acquiring services.
“This will create new opportunities and open new markets for our e-commerce clients. Becoming a Discover acquirer will allow us to help our merchants become even more successful.”
The company operates in travel, entertainment, retail and dining industries, among others.
