The clearing and settlement operation of the
Euro Banking Association, EBA Clearing, has announced the beginning
of a technical pilot for its e-payment solution MyBank.
From June to October 2012 MyBank will be
tested with banks from Austria, France, Greece, Italy and
Luxembourg both at a national and at a crossborder level.
Merchants, customers, integrators and routing
service providers will also be involved in the testing “to ensure
that the different components of MyBank work together seamlessly
and give an excellent end-user experience”, EBA Clearing said.
Wijnand Jongen, Member of the Executive
Committee, Ecommerce Europe at EBA Clearing said:
“The European e-merchant community
is eagerly awaiting an online banking based e-payment
solution that will work at a pan-European level. We look forward to
sharing its key benefits, such as high security levels, with
customers across Europe.”
Regarding the Single Euro Payments Area
(SEPA), EBA Clearing said that in the first phase MyBank will
support the initiation of SEPA Credit Transfers via browser-based
applications.
