Elavon has announced that it will work with Woo to help micro and small businesses take online payments.

Woo is the maker of WooCommerce, an open-source ecommerce platform built on WordPress. The new agreement means the Elavon payments extension will now be available on Woo-supported ecommerce stores in Poland, Germany, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands.

Installing the Elavon extension gives WooCommerce merchants instant access to payment services from Elavon, enabling them to take online payments using a reliable, secure, and valuable payment solution. The solution can help small and medium businesses (SMBs) grow into additional markets.

The extension will be free to download on the WooCommerce Marketplace

Elavon will directly manage all merchants using the new extension, meaning it can offer SMBs a more value-added service as their business needs change.

Eva Paredes, Head of SMB, UK and Ireland at Elavon commented: “Our partnership will provide WooCommerce customers with our trustworthy and easy to adopt payments solutions. With millions of online stores built using WooCommerce, we are looking forward to extending our services to support small businesses as they grow.

“We understand the needs of startups and the challenges they face which makes this a very exciting partnership. It reinforces Elavon as a trusted, go-to, global payments provider, as well as our commitment to supporting the SMB community.”

Web Griebel, Head of Payment Partnerships at Woo added: “We’re excited to offer more robust payment processing options to Woo stores with Elavon. Elavon offers a contemporary, secure, and flexible payment solution, with a loyal base of more than two million users.”

This is one of several partnerships that Elavon has made this year. Elavon recently partnered with FreedomPay which will enhance payments for hospitality and retail in Europe.
