eTranzact has announced the launch of online money transfers in
Nigeria.
eTranzact has partnered with WorldRemit, an
online money transfer provider, to offer a remittance service for
Nigerians living abroad.
Non-resident Nigerians will be able to send
money home via several payment options, including debit and credit
cards. Instant bank deposits can also be made into bank accounts at
19 Nigerian banks.
A cash pick-up option is also available for
recipients who do not have bank accounts.
This adoption is part of a move by banks and
businesses in Nigeria to avoid penalties for transacting cash over
certain limits, part of the central bank’s initiative to migrate to
a cashless society.
