Vietnam-based VPBank Finance (FE CREDIT) has enabled mobile payments for its cardholders in the country with the addition of Samsung Pay functionality.
The bank’s customers can now link their cards to the Samsung Pay application and pay for their purchases using phone.
Users will able to use the mobile app to carry out transactions at all domestic and international card accepting terminals. Furthermore users can do this irrespective of whether merchant has NFC capability.
The Samsung Pay functionality, which eliminates the need for physical cards, is also applicable for small ticket payments such as groceries and taxi fare.
FE CREDIT CEO Kalidas Ghose said: “FE CREDIT believes in harnessing technology to create unique propositions for our valued customers. The FE CREDIT Samsung Pay launch is one more example of this ongoing effort.”
Under the Everyday Rewards Plus programme, FE CREDIT cardholders using Samsung Pay will be able to earn Everyday Rewards Plus points. In addition, users can earn Samsung Reward points.
FE CREDIT director of Credit Card Business Center Nimish Dwivedi said: “FE CREDIT aims to provide first time card users with an unprecedented level of convenience. Now with Samsung Pay, they can use their mobile phone to pay at any card accepting terminal in Vietnam or internationally in a flash, without requiring their physical cards.”
