Paytech firm Payrails has teamed up with travel tech provider Flix to improve the latter’s payment operations.

This collaboration aims to optimise the checkout experience for Flix’s network, which served 81 million passengers across 5,600 destinations in 2023.

It leverages Payrails’ enterprise-grade platform to streamline transactions and bolster fraud prevention measures.

The integration enables Flix to provide localised payment experiences, supporting its expansion and catering to a global customer base.

Payrails’ system offers integrations with local payment processors and methods, allowing passengers to pay with their preferred options.

Payrails’ modular payment system is designed to optimise authorisation rates, automate workflows, and enhance transaction efficiency, with a focus on markets including Europe, North America, and Türkiye.

The system also supports Flix’s continued growth into new markets South America and India.

The integration includes smart routing features that direct transactions to the most appropriate processor, with automated retries and fallback mechanisms.

The partnership also incorporates Payrails’ fraud prevention product, which provides real-time risk management tools to lower fraud exposure and minimise chargebacks.

This enhances Flix’s payment ecosystem and supports a secure booking process for passengers.

Flix expert payments lead Daniel Fürholzer said: “Partnering with Payrails feels like having a team that’s fully invested in our success. Their deep payment expertise, data-driven approach, and innovative mindset help us build scalable solutions that support Flix’s growing global customer base.

Payrails CEO and co-founder Orkhan Abdullayev stated: “We are proud to support Flix’s vision of transforming mobility and making sustainable, accessible travel a reality. Payments should be an enabler of growth and competitive advantage. By delivering a flexible, modular solution that adapts to Flix’s needs, we empower them to create frictionless payment experiences for customers across different geographies.”

Earlier this month, Payrails collaborated with Mastercard to accelerate digital payment transformation for large enterprises.
