Payment solutions provider Flywire has introduced new enhancements to its healthcare payments platform amid Covid-19 pandemic.
The new enhancements are designed to offer customised payment options to the patients, who are facing financial hardships.
The improvements include the addition of pre-service payment plans to increase patient affordability and engagement.
It will allow the providers to settle payment commitments from an estimate with affordable options, thereby easing the payment burden for patients.
The enhancements also include Covid-19 relief payment options that seek to reduce exorbitant expenses for patients as well as minimise bad debt for hospitals. A Flywire solution assesses a Covid-19 patient’s current financial situation and devises personalised payment offers at pre- and post-service.
Flywire has also rolled out single sign-on (SSO) and telehealth payments for Epic users. SSO is available on the Epic App Orchard and allows patients to access Flywire services through MyChart to improve financial experience.

By GlobalDataFlywire healthcare business EVP and GM John Talaga said: “The ability to set proper expectations up front about a patient’s financial responsibility and proactively offer personalised payment options significantly improves collectability.
“But providers don’t always have access to the necessary information or tools to be able to offer that.”
“Our expanded payment plans at pre-service come at a time when the industry needs them most.”
Earlier this year, Flywire raised $120m from an investment round led by Goldman Sachs.
