Groupe BPCE, a French banking group, has collaborated with Natixis Payments to offer instant payment services to its customers.
The new service, which will be made available to all customers including individuals, merchants, companies, will enable account-to-account payments within 10 seconds.
Natixis senior management committee member Pierre-Antoine Vacheron said: “Natixis Payments has been investing in infrastructure for several years now in order to bring this new payment service to clients.
“These solutions – a first on the French market – have been devised to optimize the user experience, a prime example being real-time notification for beneficiaries.”
The service is currently available for all Natixis Payments and Natixis Assurances clients.
The service is also expected to be rolled out to Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne customers soon.
Once available, the two retail banking networks will enable customers to utilise their mobile banking service to carry out instant payments. The service can be used to send funds to family members, pay for items bought from other individuals or pay for services at home.
Furthermore, Natixis Payments also teamed up with Air France to enable the latter’s customers in Europe to purchase flight tickets as well as pay for other associated services by utilising instant payment service.
