HomeSend, a joint venture between MasterCard, eServGlobal, and BICS, has partnered with online money transfer service Azimo to roll out a new mobile wallet services in 10 countries in Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Through this partnership, Azimo customers can now send money directly to recipients mobile money account via HomeSend global remittance hub.

The new countries are Armenia, Burkina Faso, Fiji, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Somaliland.

HomeSend CEO Stephen Doyle said: "This form of money transfer has gained particular popularity due to its convenience, security, competitive pricing and near-instant delivery times.

"We’re excited that these kinds of meaningful partnerships are helping to not only give consumers access to safe ways to send funds, but also drive more financial inclusion around the globe."

The World Bank estimates that global remittance market will continue to grow this year to a projected total of $586bn.
