HSBC has added various new features to its P2P payment service PayMe, which includes enabling users to instantly make fund transfers to all banks and digital wallets in Hong Kong through the Faster Payment System (FPS).
To make the money transfers, PayMe users have to provide the FPS registered mobile number or the receiver’s email address. The transfers are not charged.
Moreover, the new version includes a quick-tap interface that offers rapid access to features including pay, request, top-up, and transfer to bank.
The updated app will support monthly top-up of up to HK$50,000 ($6,391) by direct debit from personal bank accounts of 10 Hong Kong banks.
At the same time, the latest version of the app lowered the monthly credit card top-up limit to HK$2,000.
HSBC head of retail banking and wealth management in Hong Kong Greg Hingston said: “To support the growing needs for everyday digital payment and to provide our users with a more streamlined payment experience, we decided to make PayMe easier to use and more flexible.
