French security and identity solutions provider IDEMIA has delivered a new payment transportation card, called Cosmo Fly, to simplify urban mobility payments in Lisbon, Portugal.
The delivery was a part of its partnership with SIBS and Otlis, the consortium of seven transport operators in Lisbon and the common system shared by 27 mobility operators.

Cosmo Fly service will enable passengers to purchase public transport tickets directly from their bank’s transport partner.
The service is aimed at increasing convenience for the passengers by enabling them to purchase and redeem tickets using a single card.
The card is certified by Calypso Networks Association (CNA) and is fully compatible with existing transport networks in Lisbon.
IDEMIA senior vice-president products & systems for financial institutions activities Olivier Nora said: “Transport operators can derive major benefits from the Dual Interface migration in the financial sector.
“At IDEMIA we are thrilled to be the first company to provide a contactless transport solution compatible with Calypso technology.”
CNA chairman Philippe Vappereau said: “Our certification policy ensures compliance to the specifications and that the security and interoperability of Calypso products are respected.
“We are very pleased to add the first payment-transportation card using the CNA Java applet to our range of certified products, and we thank Idemia for enriching and diversifying the Calypso offer.”
IDEMIA focuses on providing augmented identity services to its clients across 180 countries from financial, telecom, identity, public security and other sectors.
The company, which employs more than 13,000 people, reported revenues of nearly $3bn.
