UnionPay International and Japanese convenience store chain Circle K Sunkus have signed an agreement pursuant to which Circle K Sunkus will accept UnionPay credit cards.
Under the terms of the agreement, more than 6,200 Circle K Sunkus stores will accept UnionPay credit cards, starting 30 August 2016.
Cardholders will not require to enter PIN or sign when paying less than JPY10,000 ($98.61) with UnionPay credit cards, and can pay without PIN when spending over that amount.
Earlier, UnionPay has partnered with three convenience store chains in Japan, including 7-11, Rawson and FamilyMart, to accept its cards.
