Aplus Co, an operator of credit card and settlement service businesses in Japan, has implemented IBM LinuxONE as its mission-critical system for credit card payment processing.

IBM said that migration to Linux enterprise computing and storage infrastructure has enables Aplus to improve uptime. IBM LinuxONE will allow Aplus achieve its 24/7/365 operation objectives as online commerce gears up and companies depend on cloud applications to draw and retain customers.

Aplus, which issues credit cards such as T Card Plus, has also deployed IBM storage solutions to manage mission-critical data.

Aplus managing executive officer and chief officer of information technology group Tatsuro Unemori said: “The boom in mobile and online shopping in Japan has put increasing pressure on the technology infrastructure that processes these payment transactions.

“By making the move to IBM LinuxONE, we hope to deliver an improved customer experience through increased performance and availability.”
