Technology provider Jumio is to launch a
mobile app allowing merchants to accept card payments through their
smartphones.
Netswipe Mobile allows the camera of the
smartphones to be utilised as a card reader. Users hold their
credit or debit card in front of the camera, the app then scans and
verifies the card details via the secure video feed and processes
the transaction. The user’s card details are not stored.
The app utilises Jumio’s Management Interface
giving merchants the ability to track and log all transactions,
manage refunds and charges as well as analyzing data using the
in-built reporting tools.
Netswipe Mobile will be launched later this
year and is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
