KIR, the national payments processor of Poland, has collaborated with e-signature specialist Cryptomathic to support remote signing of documents for citizens.
Under the partnership, KIR will leverage Cryptomathic’s Signer e-signature technology.

The technology is said to offer the payments processor a centralised signing experience.
The service will also utilise digital certificates issued by the certification centre of KIR.
Using the eIDAS-certified electronic signature services, Poland individuals and companies can offer non-repudiable, legally binding digital consent.
The signature can be used across financial as well as public services.
Cryptomathic managing director Guillaume Forget said: “This capability will have a big impact on Poland’s social and economic agility. Its businesses and individuals can move faster and more efficiently than ever before, without requiring people to meet face to face to, say, witness the signing of contracts.
“The shift to remote digital signatures also accelerates Poland towards a truly paperless environment, with all the environmental benefits that delivers.”
KIR Digital Signature Business Line director Elzbieta Włodarczyk welcomed the alliance, saying that a cashless experience is especially significant during the current time of social distancing.
“KIR’s partnership with Cryptomathic represents a significant milestone in the digitalisation of Poland’s economy and the modernisation of its national payment infrastructure,” Włodarczyk noted.
