Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has selected French IDEMIA to roll out its first metal payment card.

The newly launched full-metal-card will also be the most premium offering of the IDEMIA Smart Metal range.

The Islamic bank will offer this card as an upgrade to a select group of its premium clients in Kuwait.

KFH group general manager retail banking Fadi Chalouhi said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with IDEMIA on the introduction of the country’s first metal card to KFH customers.

“Throughout our partnership, IDEMIA has supported KFH with proven and innovative technology so that we are able to deliver the most advanced and seamless banking experience to our customers.

“IDEMIA’s metal card technology is well proven in the market and delivers the quality and experience our premium customers are looking for.”

IDEMIA senior vice president of financial institutions for Middle East & Africa Julia Schoonenberg said: “We are proud that our smart metal card technology has been chosen for this lighthouse KFH project. This highlights the trust that KFH has in us.

“As a market leader in metal cards, IDEMIA strives to provide our clients with high-quality products that reflect their commitment to end-customers – including a deep and active involvement in the card’s design.”

KFH has been making use of IDEMIA’s technology and design expertise to launch new, innovative cards in Kuwait.

Furthermore, the metal card bears a laser engraved design to offer unique status symbol to the bank’s ultra-rich customer segment

Last month, Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) introduced its loyalty programme called Walaa Baytik for cardholder customers.

Moreover, in February this year, IDEMIA introduced new payment card called Cosmo Fly for Lisbon public transport.
