UnionPay International has inked an agreement with Louvre Hotels Group, under which 23 hotels of the group in Paris will accept UnionPay cards.
As per terms of the contract, all the group’s 200 self-operated hotels will accept UnionPay before the Spring Festival of 2017. Louvre Hotels Group has become the first large hotel group in France that comprehensively accepts UnionPay.
Besides Louvre Hotels Group, all the hotels of Mandarin Oriental and Rogers, and 80% of Four Seasons hotel, Hyatt and Langham hotel accept UnionPay cards.
China UnionPay chairman Ge Huayong said that China and France have maintained good relations with each other since they established diplomatic relationship more than 50 years ago.
“This agreement expands UnionPay’s acceptance footprint in France, and also optimises cardholders’ payment experiences in specific industries. Next, we will promote further cooperation with Louvre Hotels Group to cover its stores worldwide, in order to provide more convenient and high-quality services to cardholders, as well as to bring more customers to the Group’s hotels, and thus realize a win-win result,” Huayong added.
