Dubai-based Mashreq Bank has chosen Oberthur Technologies’ (OT’s) Instant Card Issuance platform to quickly issue cards to its customers.
Using the new service, the bank can instantly issue fully customised debit/credit cards as soon as customers open an account with the bank, according to OT, a France-based embedded security software products and services provider.

The instant card issuance platform has been deployed at 35 branches of Mashreq Bank in both the UAE and Qatar, supporting issuance of more than 40 credit and debit card products.
OT has also implemented its own personalisation system at Mashreq’s branches, which enables the lender to get the advantage from OT’s expertise in EMV card customisation.
Furthermore, OT manages bureau card personalisation for Mashreq that requires one-time development of chip profiles which helps to slash operating expenses and save time while making card stock management easier for the bank.
