MasterCard has made an agreement with fraud prevention provider Kount, to make its Expert Monitoring Fraud Scoring for Merchants Application Programming Interface (API) available to all Kount’s merchant customers.

MasterCard’s application allows online merchants to detect fraudulent purchases and minimise the potential of declining transactions.

The service gives merchants an insight into cardholder behaviour by providing a predictive fraud score that measures the possibility of a transaction being fraudulent in real-time.
