Mastercard has teamed up with PayTabs Group to enhance digital payment solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt.

With the partnership in place, PayTabs will utilise Mastercard’s global network and digital payment capabilities to offer a “white-labelled” digital payments platform to merchants.

The platform is designed to improve payment acceptance for SMEs by providing businesses with digital payment acceptance solutions, which can be integrated into their current business processes.

The platform enables merchants to generate payment links and incorporates features such as QR codes to improve the payment experience, especially for mobile users.

These payment links are designed to allow customers to conduct transactions quickly and securely, the release stated.

This partnership aims to enhance cash flow management for SMEs and reduce their reliance on cash transactions.

Mastercard Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq country manager Mohamed Assem said: “At Mastercard, we believe in the power of collaboration to build a robust infrastructure and drive positive change that not only benefits businesses and consumers but also contributes to a more inclusive and sustainable future for Egypt.

“Together with PayTabs, we are delivering the next generation of payment solutions that will fuel the progress of Egypt’s SMEs sector, strengthening its role in the country’s digital transformation, and contributing to long-term economic resilience.”

PayTabs Egypt general manger Karim Eyada stated: “We are excited to collaborate with Mastercard to bring PayTabs white labelled payment orchestration solutions to Egypt. By providing acquirers with this state-of-the-art platform, we are not only supporting Egypt’s transition to a cashless society and enhancing digital payment accessibility but also enabling SMEs to thrive in the digital economy.

“Together with Mastercard, we aim to boost digital transaction volumes, expand the reach of online payments, and elevate the overall user experience for both merchants and customers in Egypt.”

Set up in 2014, PayTabs is a Saudi fintech company that specialises in providing secure B2B e-commerce solutions to SMEs across MENA region.

In November 2024, Mastercard collaborated with eNovate to bring a card-as-a-service (CaaS) solution to Egypt.
