The city of Milwaukee in the US state of Wisconsin has partnered with ParkMobile to encourage contactless parking payments.
The move upgrades MKE Park app and will enable the city population to pay for parking online at more than 6,000 parking spaces around Milwaukee.
The move will help in reducing the need to touch the parking metres and increase contactless transactions amid Covid-19 crisis.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said: “The City of Milwaukee is pleased to partner with ParkMobile to provide our residents and visitors with an upgraded mobile parking app experience.
“The MKE Park app lets people quickly and easily pay for parking without touching a meter, which is safer for everyone.”
ParkMobile CEO Jon Ziglar said: “We are proud to work with the City on this important initiative to promote contactless parking payments in Milwaukee.

To use the service, motorists enters the zone number on the app and selects the length of time. Once the ‘Start Parking’ button is touched, the parking session begins.
The MKE Park app is compatible with iPhone and Android devices.
Notably, the US is one of the worst-affected by the pandemic. As of 16 June, it has confirmed more than 2.1 million cases.
