MoneyGram.com, the digital channel of American money transfer firm MoneyGram, has launched operations in France and Spain.

Apart from enabling money transfers, MoneyGram.com also allows users to check transaction status, as well as estimate online and offline transfer fees.

Commenting on the development, MoneyGram chief revenue officer Grant Lines said: “With nearly 60% of European internet users utilising online services to perform transactions, we see the growing potential of digital money transfer channels.

“The launch of MoneyGram.com in France and Spain is a part of MoneyGram’s strategy to offer our customers convenient options to send money their way.”

France and Spain, considered ‘send’ countries for money transfers, reported $16.5bn and $20.7bn outflows in 2016, respectively.

As per World Bank estimates, Belgium, Morocco, Algeria, Portugal, and Tunisia are the key countries receiving money transfer from France. France, Morocco, China, Ecuador, Germany, Romania, Colombia, and Nigeria are the key countries getting remittances from Spain.
