UK-based MYPINPAD, a payments software authentication solutions provider, has collaborated with Ingenico Group to pilot its new PIN on Mobile (PoM) solution for in-store payments in Europe.
Dubbed MYPINPAD’s PIN Entry Solution (MPES), the new PoM is a software-based PIN pad designed for secure PIN entry capture on consumer-off-the-shelf (COTS) devices such as smartphones and tablets.
As part of the live pilots, MYPINPAD integrated MPES with Ingenico’s payments solution to provide safe PIN-based payments through COTS devices.
It eliminates the need for a hardware-based PIN pad, enabling payment service providers and acquirers to offer low cost solutions to micro-merchants.
Ingenico Group market leader of Bring Your Own Device Timothée Perrin said: “Ingenico Group has integrated PIN on Mobile capabilities from MYPINPAD into the overall payment process and existing infrastructure.
“We are very pleased to have received the approval of the overall solution by the main payment schemes and be able to soon start the field tests.”
