Danish payments firm Nets Group has entered into a partnership to enable acceptance of JCB cards by its merchants in Finland.
The agreement with JCB International (JCBI), part of Japanese card issuer JCB, will allow JCB payment acceptance via Nets Merchant Services platform.
This can be initially availed by 18,000 Finish merchants, benefitting the card firm’s Russian and Japanese customers.
The two parties plan to further expand the JCB acceptance network in Finland during the course of this year.
Nets head of large accounts in Finland Petri Carpen said: “Finland is an important gateway for JCB’s Asian cardmembers visiting Europe.
“According to Visit Finland 2017 data, the number of trips made by Chinese visitors to the country rose 63 percent, with spend averaging 1,263 euros per person per trip, outspending visitors from all other countries. This initial phase of JCB acceptance will enable our merchants across Finland to tap into this increasingly important tourism channel.”
