Fingerprint sensor tech company NEXT Biometrics has joined forces with ABCorp to develop and commercialise biometric smart cards.
ABCorp offers a wide variety of products and services such as EMV and contactless payment credit and debit cards, instant issuance programmes, and digital and contactless solutions.

It has been involved in the design, manufacture, packaging, and distribution of dual-interface EMV cards.
Under the collaboration, ABCorp will club its expertise in secure manufacturing of EMV cards with NEXT`s fingerprint sensor technology.
The partners, through this alliance, intend to develop turn-key smart card solutions, which can boost the security and convenience of transactions.

In March this year, NEXT Biometrics signed an agreement with WizCard on the development of biometric smart card solutions.
It partnered with M-Tech Innovations to develop and deploy biometric smart cards in India in February. The partnership will leverage on NEXT`s sensor technology and M-Tech smartcard manufacturing capabilities.
