Nigerian payment solutions provider Nomba has joined forces with Mastercard to integrate Mastercard Gateway into its Checkout solution.

The move is aimed at improving payment experiences and advancing financial inclusion across Nigeria and the broader African continent.

This partnership leverages Mastercard’s technology to enhance Nomba’s payment offerings, allowing businesses to provide customers with a range of payment options.

The integration will support various payment methods, including international cards and QR codes in the checkout process.

This collaboration is poised to deliver multiple benefits for businesses, such as enhanced reliability through Mastercard’s secure global network, improved fraud prevention, and strengthened data protection tools.

Additionally, businesses will gain expanded access to Mastercard’s network of users.

Mastercard West Africa country manager and area business head Folasade Femi-Lawal said:“As Mastercard continues driving innovation and financial inclusion, we are thrilled to join forces with Nomba in its mission to deliver premier payment solutions to businesses in Nigeria. Our broader mission includes bringing one billion people into the digital economy by 2025, and this collaboration with Nomba is an important step in driving that goal.”

Nomba head of Product Jafer Ali Shariff said: “As we work towards building a digital Africa, Mastercard’s global expertise and state-of-the-art technology will allow Nomba Checkout to deliver the speed, efficiency and reliability our customers need to scale their businesses.”

This month, MoneyGram implemented Mastercard Move to facilitate the digital movement of money more efficiently, both within the US and internationally.
