NTT DOCOMO mobile overseas remittance benefits

The NTT DOCOMO mobile overseas remittances can be conducted at a flat fee of JPY1,000 ($8.82) through a web browser or iOS/Android app on a DOCOMO mobile device.

Except from 6am to 3am Japanese standard time, the money transfers can be made anytime.

The latest move expands the reach of the mobile remittance service to 42 countries.

In order to make a money transfer, users need to deposit cash into their docomo Kouza account through ATMs, banks or convenience stores, or through Pay-easy service.

“DOCOMO’s mobile overseas remittance service, which launched in 2011, enables Japanese subscribers to send funds with ease and convenience to children studying abroad or family working overseas. It has also been used increasingly by DOCOMO’s foreign subscribers in Japan to remit funds to family back home. Many subscribers are now expected to use the service for remittances to China and Thailand, two countries with vibrant economies,” NTT DOCOMO said in a statement.
