Canadian fintech Nuvei has teamed up with Temu, the global online marketplace, to offer enhanced payment options to shoppers.
Launched in the US in September 2022, Temu connects consumers sellers, manufacturers, and brands globally.
Temu customers can use card payments and select from a variety of local payment methods.
The integration enables local direct card acquiring and regional payment options such as Konbini, Aupay, and Payeasy in Japan; Mbway, Blik, and P24 in Poland; Bancontact in Belgium; iDeal in the Netherlands; and MBWAY and Multibanco in Portugal.
Nuvei plans to enhance payment experiences in additional markets, including Colombia, Chile, and Canada in 2025.
Nuvei chair and CEO Philip Fayer said: “As online shopping continues to grow, seamless and secure payments are essential for delivering the best possible experience. By offering hyper-localised payment experiences on a global scale, we’re enabling international eCommerce giants like Temu to develop deeper relationships with their customers through payments, wherever they are and however they want to pay.”
Commenting on the partnership, Temu spokesperson stated: “At Temu, we are committed to making quality products more accessible and ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our customers worldwide. Providing localised payment options is an important part of improving convenience for customers, and we are always looking for ways to optimise our payment processes to meet the needs of different markets.”
Nuvei partnerships include Charles & Keith, who selected Nuvei as payments partner for both local transactions and international sales.
This January, Nuvei acquired Paywiser Japan, including the licence from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
